We incorporate an online monitoring system to all of our solar PV systems. This is for a few reasons. First is so that our engineering staff can determine when maintenance may be needed on your system. For example, if a single panel or inverter is producing less than expected or isn't functioning properly, then that particular unit may need to be serviced or replaced. Another reason we offer our online monitoring systems standard as a part of our turnkey solutions is so that you will be able to view your system's performance and various reports remotely. You will be able to see the power produced by each inverter the past day, month, year, and throughout its lifetime.
The image above displays the daily production of each of the 38 solar modules and micro-inverters that YellowLite recently installed in South Point, Ohio. You can see that each module/micro-inverter pair has produced between 1.01 kWh and 1.12 kWh so far this particular day for a total of 40.6 kWh. This slight variability between each module/micro-inverter pair is mainly due to the roof gables and tree shading that affect some of the pairs more than others.
If the production of one inverter was significantly below the others for an extended period of time, then it may indicate that leaves or some other obstruction is reducing production or that maintenance may be needed. Our engineering staff analyze these reports to troubleshoot these issues and verify that the production is as expected. If something is wrong, we will quickly notify you and schedule a time to solve the issue. Due to the high quality materials and our trained installation teams, YellowLite solar PV system's rarely have issues and usually perform better than expected.
