Rochester resident Peter Mateyka is delighted with his 3.8 kW solar power system. Mateyka installed twelve Canadian Solar Quartech Max Power CS6X 320 watt polycrystalline panels to go along with his SMA Sunny Boy String Inverter. His panel efficiency is 17% while his inverter efficiency is 97%.
"So far it has knocked out our electricity bills in total," said Mateyka. "We got the system up and running at the start of the summer so it almost zeroed out the bill."
Taylor's system is forecasted to produce more than 5,000 kWh of electricity per year and will offset his electricity bill by more than 90%. This is also enough to offset the burning of 2.5 tons of coal per year. The electricity bill savings appealed to Mateyka. At a state average of $0.17 per kWh, Mateyka is saving around $850 a year.
"It is cleaner, I get that, but I installed my system more to save money long-term. My payback period is probably around five to seven years."
Mateyka contacted YellowLite in November of 2015 and his system was installed in April of 2016. Mateya received quotes from a number of other solar energy companies. When asked what the reason for going with YellowLite, Mateyka said it was solar consultant Abe who made all the difference.
"I talked to a few others, but YellowLite was the one who really worked with me. Abe was tremendous. YellowLite was the most thorough. There was no runaround. They followed through on everything. Abe was first class. He always responded right away through calls or email. From the time I met him until the time of completion, he was always on top of things."
The equity that has been added to the Mateyka household is approximately $11,000. It should be noted that the added equity value to your property from going solar is based on a rate of $3.11 a watt from the latest research, but it is always a good idea to contact your realtor.
